As a call to some of the most instrumental points and teams throughout the timeline of MJ’s career, the pair evokes a similar design to the “Top 3” or even the more recent Union AJ1. A brand new Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG is revealed and this rendition of the silhouette is a tribute to Michael Jordan’s basketball Hall of Fame induction speech from 2009, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Sporting a color block layout to reflect MJ’s alma-mater UNC, as well as his professional career with the Chicago Bulls — “White/University Blue-Varsity Red-Black” — the sneaker boasts a patent leather construction. Completing the design is a quote from MJ’s basketball Hall of Fame induction speech that reads, “Limits, like fear, are often just an illusion” with a line through the bold word “FEAR” printed on the insoles.
