To welcome the new year, the Serena Williams Design Crew shifted their focus to the Air Max 90 Futura, providing the silhouette with a much more understated makeover than their previous experiments. Light tan hues make up most of the colorway, complemented by textured leather and suede that run throughout the shoe. While it remains faithful to the original model in many ways, the SWDC did help differentiate the pair from typical GRs: in addition to the contrasting color panels on the upper, they also upgraded the tongue with a herringbone knit material and added a touch of Serena Williams’ background along with various uplifting messages.
