This Nike Air More Uptempo pays tribute to the Windy City. Known as the “Chicago” edition, they come in a Bulls-inspired university red and black colorway. Featuring the letters “Chi” in place of traditional “Air.” This is only the second time Nike has replaced “Air” on the sides of the Air More Uptempo, with Supreme doing it first. The Nike Air More Uptempo is beloved for its obnoxious, over-the-top design with the large AIR on the upper and the full-length visible Air Max bubbles. It’s perhaps one of the most recognized Nike Basketball shoes in history and despite current footwear trends of monotone, seamless, and knit constructed shoes, people seem to want more of the More Uptempo. Supreme gave the world one of the craziest remixes of the shoes as it replaced the signature AIR detailing on the upper in favor of its name, and it appears that Nike is taking the same approach and honoring the sneaker capitals of America by gracing the shoe with these special cities.
